Today I ordered a Garmin iQue M5 to use for work.

I may have to use it in my TCH (probably more accurate) and then I can navigate while watching (did I say that) my Energy and Consumption screens

It's going cost me nothing except for my time. I'm installing it myself.

Does anyone know if installing this system yourself aftermarket will affect your warranty at all? I wouldn't want to install this shiny new toy and find out later that it invalidates my warranty on my electrical systems...

Warranty cannot be invalided from the install unless they can proof that was what caused the problem.

The better question is, is this OEM NAV covered under the fatory warranty? If not what is the warranty on it? I'm guessing that the dealer woudl not realize you added it unless you told them. If there was a problme I'm not sure if their system corelates a VIN to options if they order a replacement part for your NAV say a year form now.

Somehow this makes me cringe. Add in using a cellphone and I REALLY don't want you driving behind me thanks.
