Is it confirmed that the Post 2007 TCHs have a larger fuel tank? It was my understanding that the 2007 TCH had a 17.2 gal tank, while all of the other 2007 Camrys had 18.x. Perhaps the poster that put in 18.x in his '08 ('09?) filled it beyond what Toyota measures as capacity on the TCH, and that, combined with a spec somewhere that shows 2009 "Camrys" having an 18.x capacity, we are confused? Just a thought. Comments?

As far as I know I was looking at the 09 TCH specs on the Toyota site when I saw the 18.5 gallon capacity. And I can't imagine any other way to get 18.2 gallons in there.

The owner's manual for my 2007 TCH, on the outside back cover, shows fuel tank capacity as: 65 L, 17.2 gallons. Could anyone with a 2008 and/or 2009 TCH check yours and see what it shows? Thanks!

My '08 manual also lists 17.2 gallons. I was able to put in 18.2x gallons on my current fill up. Pretty sure Toyota does this on purpose. Still blown away by what the car was able to achieve. Going for over 700 on the next tank. Does anybody know the highest reported mileage so far on one tank?

Visited Toyota's website and downloaded a 2009 (Yes - 2009) ebrochure - which specified that 2009 Camry Hybrid fuel tank is (Yes, you guessed it) 17.2 gallons.

I've had several 700 mile tanks (My TCH started off with 13 miles and has over 44,000 miles now) in the summer filling up with less than 16 gallons of gas. I can honestly say shooting for 750 miles with the MFD reporting at least 45mpg is definitely possible. However, I would not take the chance (cos' I own an '07 TCH) pushing it beyond that unless if I have at least 48mpg on the MFD.

It won't be too long before we start hearing reports of people running out of gas in their TCH....

LOL TCH on the database has reported multiple tanks of over 800 miles. Keep in mind that Florida is ideal for the TCH. Flat and warm. Southern California is warm but has enough hill to give you a hit on FE. Having said all that, it is possible to get over 750 miles in Southern California but you need some warm days to do it.

My best tank so far was last summer at 757 miles. The MFD was showing 49mpg and the actual mpg was only 48mpg. I doubt I'll ever go past that, as H2O Doctor says, too many hills in southern CA.

I think I can get 750 on my next tank. I drive reasonably efficient.
