I connect my IPOD to the TCH's AUX connector using the Belkin Auto Kit for iPod w/ Dock Connector (Part # F8V7058-APL). http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProdu...duct_ID=149006
After connecting to the auto kit, I place the IPOD in a Belkin TuneDok™ (Part # F8E467), located in the cup holder closest to the dashboard.

This solution, gives me convenient IPOD access without any hum/whine problems, while keeping my IPOD charged.
Check NewEgg, Best Buy, etc., for the best Auto Kit / TuneDok prices.
