GAS MILEAGE

Re: GAS MILEAGE
Is there any minimum mileage to be done each time to get a good FE? I drive only 3 miles each day to work on local roads and the FE even with all techniques applied is only 36.6. Sometimes I drive an additional 14 miles in the midday.

Re: GAS MILEAGE
My wife drives 2 1/2 miles each way to and from work 5 days a week. Because of this her average is only about 29mpg. The temperature is now in the 50's and 60's. Sounds like you are doing great.

One thing to remember, when you get your oil changed remind the Dealer that it is a hybrid and it requires the oil weight on the filler cap. I had to take mine back in as they'd put in the wrong weight and my FE dropped 8mpg!!

It is not TCH specific.
Any car needs a lot of fuel during warming up period, so the mileage number becomes worse on cold start.
