Hey, sounds like my wife. Tank has to be filled before it gets down to a quarter left. Makes me fuel it up before she will take a 3 mile trip back and forth to store.

I'll poke fun of my wife for this forever, but ultimately, she's right to fill it up early. Cold weather can create condensation in a low tank, plus we had a nasty windstorm here in Washington late last year that knocked out power for a week, including all the fuel stations. My wife keeps our car full of gas, and was able to simply avoid looking for gas in the aftermath.

I am happy to report that today I was able to achieve that magical '700 mile' mark. I basically entered the gas station at 700.4 miles driven on one tank. I averaged 39.7 mpg as well. What caught me off-guard was the fact that I filled the tank up with 18.2 gallons of fuel. Am I the only person to fill up with over 18 gallons?

If I were you I would not take a chance with the 18.2 gallons again. If you don't see at least 43.5mpg on the MFD don't risk it...
Just my 2 cents...
