Driving Habits Poll

Re: Driving Habits Poll
Hmmm I voted under the vary category. In general I do drive much more slowly and steadily than before. Tho I do have times tho when I do "feel the need for speed" or when I am running late and since I know the TCH can do it if I choose to.... But I have slowed down enough that my husband and friends have noticed!
Enjoying having the best of both worlds with a RED TCH!

Re: Driving Habits Poll
As others have noted, I drive around the same speed but I drive in slightly different ways -- accelerating at a rate designed to maximize FE (not necessarily accelerating more slowly), trying harder to anticipate slowdowns and coasting more, and so on.
The TCH provides lots of feedback on how you're doing on FE. When you provide feedback on performance relative to some measure (in this case, driving for higher FE) to someone with any motivation at all, they tend to improve their performance. A lot of drivers in other kinds of cars would improve their FE if they had a big FE gauge right next to the speedometer!

I agree! When I'm zooming up a hill and notice the FE gauge at under 10 mpg I think "I really don't need to go this fast, do I ..."
However, if I drove a Tundra with an FE gauge I'd probably be close to a heart attack half the time.

Re: Driving Habits Poll
A lot? Many have a digital instantaneous fuel mileage, and average mpg display, but I believe the posters comment references the swinging analog guage...this does wonders for economical driving.
