haha...no....I've read it too. 
I just don't believe it. I would like to see some kind of evidence that air blows (or is sucked) from between the glass and the dash plastic. In my poor mans test, I would not feel anything.

Maybe your fingers are numb from all of those cold New York winters!! I haven't checked for myself either.
