I need to replace the lid on the center console for the 2007 Camry. I asked about this at the last service I had at a Toyota dealer. Apparently, the entire console has to be replaced; it's not possible to replace the lid.

I'd actually be more interested in just putting some tape on the lid. Would it be a correct assumption that it will be difficult to find a matching tape color?

 

which lid? There are two. One next gear shifter and one above it.



One lower can be removed with console grey plastic piece it is in. Clips. Upper is removed as you see. Enture console does not need to be removed.

 

The lid which needs replacing is the upper one between the two front seats.

 

Ok.... There is no UPPER lid between two front seats. There is armrest that sides as storage compartment. You cracked that one? I can surely see that happen when elbow is jammed into it.
It's hinged, right? Whatever is hinged is removable.

 

What is wrong with dealers that they don't want to unclip one piece of plastic and undo 4 god **** screws?
