You will need a remote and a receiver. Use the remote to "teach" the buttons in the car and then the receiver will turn the lamp, house lights, coffee maker, or whatever on/off for you.

No. You would need the Vehicle Interface that plugs into the wall outlet. This communicates with the car's homelink system and operates the lamp modules.

You don't HAVE to specifically use the "Vehicle Interface".
