If the screen doesn't show who is calling, then I'll just go for the phone and then look on the tiny screen. In my opinion, it would be smarte to just include the caller ID onscreen whenever possible.

I don't have nav either, but my car always shows the caller ID on the display. I think it depends on how the TCH "talks" to the phone. (Mine is a Motorola V551).

My brothers non-nav TCH always displays caller id. He uses LG-8300 phone.

Got a call last night on my LG-8300 in the TCH. Showed the called ID just fine.

So it seems like non-nav cars show caller ID fine.
Nav cars need to be put into override.

Unless we hear from a NAV person who is sure he gets CALL ID without override.

Another question...does CALLID work when using the new (6.1) NAV disk? Moreover, if you made a custom NAV disk (New (6.1) NAV disk with override firmware from original (5.1) disk), do you have to put it in override?

Probably a stupid question but could somebody please explain what "override mode" is. What are you overriding?

Override refers to a mode in the navigation system that allows you to use the system while the car is in motion.

An option I won't have I understand when my TCH arrives with a version 6.1 a navigation system>
