Paint chips are a common complaint among almost all new cars. There are quite a few complaints on this very forum.

That's impressive, I must say.

I've got an 07 TCH that I covered the front of using the transparent film, the day I bought it (June 07). It's done a fantastic job of protecting the paint against scratches and dings - there's a number of places where the film has been bruised from stones and other debris hitting the car, but the paint has nary a scratch. I'm also convinced that the film absorbs enough of the force that it actually helps prevent the metal from getting dented.

In another 2 to 3 years, the film will likely have taken enough damage to need replacing, which I will happily do. Peeling back a corner of the film shows no sign of paint discoloration, by the way.

Other than the dealer and ebay, where can I get the best deal on a bra for my 09 TCH?

I purchased the 3m clear bra kit from ebay around 175 and had it installed for about 250.

I also have the LeBra which is a great fit. I use the vehicle with the 3m the majority of the time and install the bra when I go on long trips for extra protection.

As for discoloration I read that you can use a heat gun on a moderate setting to remove the white hazing and bring back the shine, but care should be used, and only at a moderate distance from the film.

Gosh, I keep kicking myself for not signing up for this forum BEFORE I bought my TCH. Otherwise, I'd have the clear film on my car and none of the unsightly pock marks caused by rocks and other debris (yeah, they like spreading gravel all over the road in the winters here).

Any idea if it's possible to have the bumper restored to "like new?" It's plastic though, so maybe the only way to do this is to completely replace it (don't think I'd spring for this option).

I'm pretty sure it's painted just like any other body panel despite being plastic. It can be repainted but I don't know how economical it would be.
