Default Best Options for Hybrid Battery Replacement

Hey All,

Long time lurker, less of a poster since I usually find most of my answers on my own.

Looking for updated opinions on what the best options for replacing / servicing the hybrid battery once it goes out. I have a 2011 Camry Hybrid and it's still running just fine, but a little anxiety about the hybrid battery and even the 12v battery are kicking in.

I will add that I do plan on selling this car in a few years due to a growing family size.

Thanks for any feedback!

When the battery on my old Honda Civic Hybrid went out, I got one from hybridrevolt.com. Good service and half the price of anywhere else I looked. Never had a problem with it before I sold the car.

Hybrid battery failures in Camrys are almost always very progressive and gradual. Even after you received the "check hybrid system" warning and the P0A80 code, AND the car is still mostly driving okay, it's extremely common to be able to clear the code and continue to drive on the deteriorated battery for months with periodic clearing of codes when they occur.

It's exceedingly rare that a battery failure causes a stranding. In some cases, a HV battery leak may trigger protection where the car will not start at all, but disconnecting the 12V for 5 minutes and reconnecting will clear the code and allow start and drive. In this case, even if the code returns while driving, the car will continue to drive fine UNTIL you turn it off. Then it will be disabled.
