I've owned Toyotas for 27 years, and I've always thought of the Camry as a "grampa" car. At age 56, I'm qualified. The '07 is gnarlier than any Camry so far, so I feel fine about the styling, and younger folks like the looks too.

I had my eyes on a Lexus IS250 for a long time, but after a lot of test drives I realized I wanted a softer ride. I was testing every '06 Camry, plus the Hondas and Subarus, not getting excited, and then along came the TCH. I saw the performance numbers and that was it. I plunked down my $500 and began my wait for delivery.

They say it'll get here someday. I feel like I did when I waited for my 16th birthday, so I could drive. At least then I had a definite date. It's kinda fun waiting for something special. Reminds me what it's like to be a kid.

I am 63 so will bump the average a little. We traded a Toyota Highlander LTD for the TCH. So far we love the Hybrid. As we lean into retirement we wanted a vehicle that would not cost a small fortune to drive. This is the one. Interesting to see the varity of age groups that have purchased or are interested in the TCH. It will be a great ride.

I'm actually 22 (will turn 23 March 11 this year) and I bought my TCH September 13, 2006. I was ripped off by the dealer, but have learnt my lesson. This is my third car, I bought all three last year after I got my license. I did not get any hand-downs or any support from family, did it all myself. My first car (Black 97' Pontiac Grand Prix SE V6) lasted 2 months (April to June, 2006) months before I sold it. My second car (Metallic gray 2001 Hyundai XG 300) lasted 2 months (July to September 13, 2006) before I traded it in at a GREAT loss for my TCH (I should have sold it myself!!). I've had older people at work (I'm the youngest there, I look like a baby cos most of them are in their 40's +) try to convince me that I made a stupid choice, and that I should have gotten the Honda Civic. After a little debate about the hybrid system, they walk away timid and dumb-founded because they have little or no knowledge about HSD. Also, I just think the Honda Civic looks like a box, and I could do better than that. I don't like the shape on the Accord and I'm not really into luxury cars cos' they are simply a waste of money. I would have gotten the Scion tc, but I prefer 4 doors to 2 doors (I hate coupes!!!). My friends were talking about Nissan's Maxima, but if I want a fast car, I want to go all out, like say.... Lamborghini's Murcielago and not a car that does 0-60 in 7 seconds. So I figured the TCH would be a better if not the best choice for me (not the fastest nor the slowest).

Sorry for the long post!!!

I guess I can add my age to the list. I am 74 and I think that the TCH is the car that is the most fun to drive of all of the many I have had since I started to drive at 13. It isn't the most powerful, fastest or most sporty(?) but the ability to see so much of what is going on, it is most informative and a challenge to improve my driving.

Hey,
I'm 66, wife is 58 and we wanted another car for our corporation, we're both consultants. I ride a Ducati, have a 4WD PU and Sienna AWD. The Camry, my second, makes sense, drives well and has the fun stuff. We rejected the Blutec Mercedes E Class, and BMW 329xi AWD as too much glitter and not enough substance.

You forgot the grotesque maintenance costs as well; both for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance fun! Anyone else find changing transmissions every year or so (MB 300 TD) less than fun? How about replacing brake pads every 5000 miles with the oil? (Yes, there is LOTS more than just brakes and transmissions to keep you intimate with the Mercedes dealer!) And you can forget a decent climate control, or cruise control, or radio, or... Great, solid ride and handling, however!

Guess who will not ever be owning another Mercedes?!!!!
