Default 575 milers....how are you doing it? :-D

Ok ok...I am really jealous of all those 600 miler clubs and 700 miler clubs. I just want to fit in. So I am making my own where those of us that have been neglected can join in MPG harmony to the tune of 575/tank.

In all seriousness now....

This is the best I will have ever had. In fact, I will be hitting it soon.

I wish I could push to 600 but it wont happen and I'm even a little afraid of 575....but I should be able to hit it is because 575/37 = ~15 gallons of fuel and I should still have some left.

How did I do it... I took 400 mile round trip visit to my parents. :-)

My girlfriend drove the the way there (while I was driving a Uhaul - that was an unfortunate fuel bill) and she had a trip average of 40.3!! Better than my best tank of 40.1 (which I did cheating and did not push to above 550).

I could not hit the 40.3 on the way back :-( .... I think I need to have her drive me around more from now on.

So....

To all those who have been left out of the other clubs...join me! (I am counting on you Larry.)

I'd never want to be in a mileage club (except maybe the mile high club, but that's another story).
It goes against my grain.
I don't ignore warning (idiot) lights.
I ran out of gas, once (1975), I don't want to do that again.

The farthest I have pushed my tank is 555. I usually fill up when it says 1\8 tank. Each of my tanks have always been 14.3 gallons or less to fill up. So I could easily get 600 out of the tank.

Ah yes. You would easily get 600. I usually risk it all and done fill up until about 60 miles past went my cruising range hits zero. (Obviously my decision is also based on where I am and why type of driving I am doing.)

I haven't been that bold yet to go that far after 0 on the cruising range. I wanted to get over 500 miles on my last tank and it cost me $0.17 a gallon more to fill-up the next day. Gave my wife an 'I told you so'. I'm not deterred though, I'm shooing for the 575!

I never drive less than 575 on a tank of gas, but I drive a Prius. Ebony in motion....
