I assume that to go to the Avalon wheels on our TCH, I just need to remove the tire pressure sensors from the current wheels, have them mounted in the new wheels, put tires on, then I am good to go. But am I correct that is all I have to do to go to the 17 inch Avalon wheels?

For every job, the right tool is helpful. For some jobs, the right tool is essential. For some jobs, the right tool is called a "checkbook". Tire shops have large, expensive, stationary tools just for this. You really cannot do it yourself. My local tire shop (in a major market) charged me $100 to do all four.

Several people in this forum have put Lexus wheels on their TCHs.

how is your car with 18s? i want to go 18 but people tell me i shouldnt b/c my speedometer and gas milage will change and i could mess up the car cause everything in the hybrid camry is programed in the cars computer. a parts guy from a toyota dealer told me that also. i noticed on the toyota website u can upgrade to the trd 19 rims without any warnings.

Shaughn,
When you go up in wheel size, typically you run a shorter sidewall on the tire (stiffer). This will allow you to have the same overall height (and rolling diameter) of the tire/wheel assembly.
Edit: You can go to Tire Rack's web site and punch in your OEM tire size and they will give you the tire size options for larger diameter wheels.

To add to what GeorgiaHybrid said, I've been running 18's for a while (about 2 years) and other than my speedo being a LITTLE off due to the size tire I use there are absolutely no other issues. Well, other than my TPMS light being on because I never got around to moving my sensors off of my stock wheels...but that really isn't a problem for me.
I've run 225/40/18 and 225/45/18. I think when this set wears down I'm going to go with a little wider tire (but will say with a 45 series).
