Flopshot,

As they say, you da man!

Learn something new every day. In this cae, I may have to get me some of those rims.

One question - can I put 18's on the TCH without doing all those other mods (springs, etc?)

The springs are lowering the car. If you don't install lowering springs like I did, then it makes it EASIER to install 18" wheels on your car. But you still need to verify the tire size that you plan to use.

Those do look pretty sharp, much better than stock.

I had considered getting after market wheels to replace the ugly stock set on my hybrid, but then I got acclimated to the look of the stock wheels and forgot about it.

I keep thinking about getting some new wheels also, but the longer I own the car (33,000 miles, 22 months) the less I want to spend the $$$ on the wheels. I enjoy saving money on gas, so it's hard to justify spending big bucks on wheels....I must be (finaly) getting "mature", as I used to change wheels on my cars as soon as I could.

The stock wheels are really very un-attractive, IMHO.

Kevin, your wheels look awesome!

18's with 225/40/18 Tires. I got these for a great price used, so I had no say so in the tire size. The next set will be a 45 series tire. I would love to drop it a little bit, but not while the wife is driving it daily!!

Looks really nice!
How is road noise and ride comfort compared to the stock wheels and tires? I'd like to get some nice wheels someday soon but I'd like to have an idea what I'm going to sacrifice in comfort for looks. Thanks!

Road noise is fine. No worse than the worn Bridgestones at 32K. I feel the road a little more, but my wife said she didn't notice any difference. These tires stick more than the stockers did, so I think it handles a little better than before. I'm sure a 45 series would feel better and fill in the gap a little more too, but these will be fine for a while (till they wear down). I have no regrets and definitely don't miss the stock wheels, ALTHOUGH I might put them on my 97 camry (I hate hubcaps!! )

I was reading this thread and wondered, we have 2 camrys with Avalon wheels on it (photos). Anyone done the other Avalon alloys on their TCH-the ones with the flat spokes that look strangely similar to the stock rims?

I will probably to go Avalon wheels, but wanted to compare the look of all 3.
