Research before you buy a hybrid

Yes, I know, the proper disposition but you know I've been thinking a better answer might be to "fix" a SPAM posting in such a way that the result is worse than posting in the first place:

- Block futher posting but leave account 'stuck' - the 'Clockwork Orange' treatment, effectively able to watch but not able to post again from the account.
- URLs - edit or redirect to some place safe. Perhaps a page that lists the posting policies.
- List of offers - blanket replacement with the posting guidelines.

Hopefully, these will be rare occurrences and not consume the administrators time.
Does seem like a number of single post (aka dump & run) members lately.

One of the most effective anti-SPAM techniques is to block first postings until approved by an admin. But that requires a fairly active admin team. It is a shame we have to waste so much time dealing with this network nonsense.
