Is there any way to set the default to UNCHECK the "Enable email notification of replies" when making a new post?

Sometimes I forget to uncheck it.
The result is my home email gets spammed which really upsets my wife.
I can't blame her, as sometimes quite a few download at a time.
Drives us crazy!
