When to Fill the RXh Gas Tank
So when do you fill the tank? My dealer said I should never let it go below 1/4 tank. I did that with my first tank, and got 280 miles. Sure I could've gone more miles, but I was kind of scared at how the dealer told me not to go below 1/4 tank.
I want to get input of other RXh owners on when you fill up, and why. Thanks in advace.

Jeff,
Okay, looks like I've reported some incorrect information. Toyota's website reports a fuel capacity for the regular gas-version of the Highlander at 19.1 gallons. There is a very subtle bug in their website. If you go to www.toyota.com, click on Hybrids > Highlander Hybrids > Specifications, you will actually get the gas vers specs which can only realize by the small title "Highlander (Gas)".
If you then click on the "Highland Hybrid" picture in the upper right again, you get the HiHy specs... which reports a fuel capacity of 17.2 gallolns, same as the Lx400h.
Grrr. My bad. I also verified in the specification section of the my HiHy owner's manual that the tank capacity for the HiHy is 17.2 gallons...

My fuel gauge in my HiHy is usually around the last tick at about 15.5 gallons. It does state in the owner's manual that "It is a good idea to keep the tank over 1/4 full." However, what that means is open to question. I also remember reading somewhere (forgot the source) that it was bad to run it down near this 19.1 gallon limit because it may have negative effects on the hybrid system...
