Quick Hello
We just purchased a new 06 Highlander Hybrid on Tuesday. Gold Limited with Nav.
Biggest factor in the purchase was that we got increased horsepower and still maintained reasonable gas mileage. After reviewing the website here I am not aware of a lot of vehicles that go 0-60 in 7 sec with 270 hp and still get app 25 mpg real world.
We picked up the vehicle and the computer was showing 19.8 mpg average for app 450 miles (vehicle was driven to us from Mississipi). We have added another 100 miles and it is already up to 23.1 mpg average with 550+ miles showing on the screen.
No complaints so far. I have noticed braking feels different and I am still adjusting to the different feel of the brakes.

Congradulations on your hot rod SUV. 
There are a lot of tips on the site for raising that figure. Or just hang around. I get almost 23 MPG on my non-hbrid Escape V6. Welcome aboard.
