Smile New HCH owner in Virginia

Just drove back from the dealer (47.7mpg) and ready to learn from everyone's accumulated experience

Good start with the HCH2 purchase!

My top 5:
- keep it at 60mph (or less) if possible - use CC if you want
- dont burn rubber accelerating - keeping it below 2500rpms is good idea
- try to anticipate stop lights and slow down early to avoid having to stop for them
- use AC sparingly and if you use it dont keep it on a full blast on once thru air
- consider putting some more air in your tires. Taking them from 36 --> 42psi+ seems to help FE without killing the ride/traction.

You may want to start recording your mileage with the possible exception of the first tank. This will give you insights to how your vehicle is performing and understanding. Certainly the Civic groups have a lot of good 'lessons learned' and tips.

GOOD LUCK!

Welcome, indeed! Have you been hit with a $1000 fine for not hitting 50MPG yet?

Haha... If you take a look at the list of new "fees" in VA, you'll probably find that hybrid drivers are extremely unlikely to be affected
