Got my Black Prius yesterday
Hi Everyone
I just wanted to introduce myself to this community.
I took ownership of my Black Prius '06 Pkg#3 just yesterday. She is a thing of beauty. Have not driven too much yet, only 8 miles from the dealership to my house and then another 5 miles to my workplace. So i still have to get a grip on how to get the best mileage out of my car. Considering that it is winter, it might be difficult to get very high mileages. But i am waiting to go on a long drive this weekend.

Doesn't it just make you WANT to drive? That's one drawback of the Prius (didn't find it as much with my FEH), it's just so COOL that it makes me want to drive more, which is kind of anti-conservation. Fortunately I DO get to drive a fair amount, so I can get it out of my system. (The night I picked it up, as I prepared to drive away, I almost "jumped for joy" when I realized that I had to travel 50 miles (each way) to Binghamton the next day - a trip I usually dislike. Suddenly it didn't seem so bad...) And I'm so busy the rest of the time I can't just drive around wasting gas. But if I could...
Oh you bet. I am so waiting to go on a long drive.
I hope the weekend stays nice (weather wise) and i can make the 300 mile roundtrip i am planning, with my wife.
Even today i have been so busy all day that i have not been able to drive my Prius even once. I had to get in my older car to work since i do not still have the stickers that would allow me to park my Prius on our workplace parking lots.

I'll never forget the day I was assigned a 03 prius for fleet testing for 6 months, I started to drive down the road and the other drivers would roll down thier windows and say wow what a cool looking car what is it? I would then tell them its a toyota! It was hard to stop at stores because people would come up and want to look at & talk about the car..
I liked the car so much I stopped in a local toyota dealer and asked about the availibility, it was soo funny the salesmen all came out to look at the car.. It was like they had never seen a slick topped (no roof lights) fully marked prius...
The car performed very well 0-60 in 9.5 seconds & was great on gas!!
Around town driving, 100 miles a day would filler up at 500 miles (heavy foot).
We finnished the tests and the car was reassinged. as far as I know there are several depts in Fla that are using them as marked patrol cars (I guess you can sneak up on the bad guys ). you can look them up on the net.. under police hybrids, police prius, ect.
After that I was pretty much sold, I then hesitated on joining the waiting list as there were a few people on it..
So I looked at the Honda models, they just did not turn my head like the toyota prius.. So I got on a waiting list & picked up my own hot looking 04' 3 wks later and have been happy ever since...
