THE average age of Toyota's Prius hybrid owners is 57. Although it might seem that the cutting edge technology that alternates between gas and battery power would appeal to a youthful market, nearly 60 percent of Prius drivers are in their 50s through 80s. What puts seniors behind that wheel?

same thing that puts them behind the wheel of scions (i test drove one yesterday....i was the second gen y to go to the dealership) they are downsizing b/c of retirement money, and that kind of car just makes sense.
