I got my third and final trophy today.

Achieved this at 4504 miles !!!

When did you get your final trophy?

 

I got mine around 5700 miles. Does this reset when you change oil?

 

That is a question I will have to answer in about a few months. My oil is at 50% which roughly took 3 months to get there.

 

I got my third trophy a while ago and I've now had two oil changes. (First one at 5K/60% second at about 11K/50%. I just can't go 10-15K miles without getting my oil changed, regardless of what the meter says)

No, this doesn't get reset when the oil life meter gets reset. It just kind of goes away.

But hey, we still get to keep getting great mileage! And passing gas stations is a fun trophy in it's own right....

 

I haven't had any issues with letting the meter tell me when it was ready for an oil change. Acutally my Mercedes was the first car I owned that did metering.

 

I actually had three different Honda reps try to talk me out of my first oil change, or at least point out to me I didn't need it. First the woman on the phone when I made the appt, then the service rep who did the paperwork when I checked in and finally the another service rep in the waiting room.

I was actually kind of impressed as my experience with dealer service has always been them trying to sell me something i don't want and yet here they were trying to save me money!

But as for the meter, I'm sure it would be fine if I let it go to 0-10%, it's just me. I simply can't let a brand new car go more than 5-7.5K miles without changing the oil. I guess it's the old school in me.

Maybe when it's an old junker with 300,000 miles 10 years from now....

 

I just got mine mrkcohen, The dealer gave me a free oil change certificate- they do this to all buyers. But they told me to bring it in for the first at 3K miles and then 5K after.
However after break in I will put synthetic in and go the route the car suggests. I don't run things hard anyways.

 

What a waste of oil!!! We can all change, so get with it!!! 3000 mile oil changes, no wonder the oil company's are so wealthy. Save yourself some money and get with the technology, pleaaaaase. Hal

 

Just curious, what's your lifetime MPG with the 3rd trophy? Congrats on working it!
