Default New Info!

Via insightman.com there is lots of new specs for the 2010 Insight.

The numbers are a bit odd though...the engine generates 88 hp (vs. 110 in the Civic hybrid) and the motor makes 14hp (vs 20hp in the Civic hybrid). Thankfully, it weighs nearly 300 pounds less than the civic hybrid, but still, it has far less hp than the civic.

A member from Vtec.net came across with PDF document from Honda Belgium that gives technical details, fuel consumption figures (for Europe),and equipment grades (for local market).

It's 95 hp in the HCH, and 20 hp motor, for a total of 110. My guess is that the difference will be hardly noticable. One might be able to notice less powerful IMA. Maybe they had to limit the power to make the battery smaller to fit with the foldable rear seat, or to make it cheaper. The power lost in the ICE seems to be on top end, since max power is now at lower rpm and max torque is the same. It's basically the same engine, not many drivers will be able to tell the difference.

Also seems like the tires are narrower, 175 mm instead of 195.
