That just made me think of something... When they replaced the CVT, they quoted about $7,500 for the replacement. Glad I wasn't paying... and it better not die again!

A quick check on http://www.car-part.com reveals that you can pick up a 2003+ Civic Hybrid CVT for $700-1800 from various parts recyclers around the country with the median price being about $1000. If yours fails out of warranty, you might want to investigate getting a used transmission because $6000-7500 is totally out of hand.

You haven't replaced the battery?? Do the rest of you think that the battery will last well into the 100,000's of miles? This is a good sign.

I believe the battery will last more than 100,000 miles. I would think there are things that could shorten the life of it or lengthen the life of it, things like extream heat or cold might shorten it. Anybody else on ways that could shorten or extend the life? Kevin

probably how much you use the battery can affect its life too. if you use assist and charge a lot, and cycle between them often at short intervals (like city driving), then the battery will age faster...i would think.

I have a 2004 HCH with about 28,000 miles on it. No problems at all.
My best tank was 946 miles at 70.0 mpg average. My last 2 tanks were better than 66 mpg and a little over 1000 miles per tank (I top off my tank and get 15.2 gallons per tank)
. My lifetime average is about 59.4 mpg (it was a steep learning curve and winters are harsh).
