Here are the 7 reasons I am getting the 8 year/120,000 mile Hondacare policy for $960, $0 deductible (folks this is insurance policy, not a warranty):

1) Roadside assistance from day 1 of ownership (it's only $10 a year if I go through my Geico auto insurance or $80 per year with AAA or the like)
2) Rental car reimbursement for 2 days at $35 per day on any repair taking more then 0.1 hours (according to the SAE standards) from day 1-so you are not without a vehicle-even for items covered under the 3 year/36,000 mile warranty
3) Added resale value when selling privately (which will be a good option at year 4 or 5 vs. trade-in value)
4) Navigation system is covered (except for DVD updates); the sheer price to repair the Navigation system after 3 years or 36,000 miles will be over $1000 due to high parts cost and high labor involved.
5) I live in NY, an 8 year/80,000 powertrain state
6) My 5 1/2 year old 1995 Acura Integra had a failed distributor and I expect to drive the Civic harder (granted there is an electronic ignition and no distributor in the HCH II)
7) My wife's peace of mind
