Should I test drive HCH again?
The wife is right: The Civic Hybrid is not NEARLY as powerful as either the Accord or the Town & Country. It is also a little less powerful than the regular Civic, and a little slower in acceleration.
The difference is in the capabilities for higher gas mileage with the Civic Hybrid.
Sounds like she really just does not want a hybrid.
If she is to be the main driver, weigh this heavily in your decision-making.
Most PEOPLE are spoiled (addicted to power). I'm one of them. I'm hoping to change.
If she's happy in a regular Civic, I'd be inclined to encourage it. It does get quite good gas mileage itself. I considered the Civic EX myself, before deciding instead on the Hybrid.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised at how much power the 06 HCH has. I came to it from a Lexus RX300, which had some nice pickup, and I was expecting to be really disappointed, but I haven't been. It's got a small lag from a standing stop, but once it gets going it's got some nice zip to it.
