Thanks, noflash. Good idea....I could keep this Target one (same mfr as the one we have in my wife's car, incidentally) plugged into the armrest outlet and use the switch.
Mmmmm....toasty buns on cold Oregon mornings!

Mid-Winter Update:
Well, the positive is that is does work. I do appreciate the heat on these cold mornings -- it was 2 deg F this morning!
On the negative, the thing is so crumpled I'm not sure I can save it. My bulky coat kinda smoothes it sideways as I get into the car.
Also exacerbating the problem is that I don't have the straps going around the seat-back as designed. I do not want to interfere with the side airbags.
About once every 10 uses I have to shove the charger a little more snuggly in the cig lighter.
So, for the price I'd still recommend it. I s'pose in the spring I'll store it between some boxes to flatten it out. I doubt I could even iron it flat right now.
However, if money is not an issue our other HCHII has aftermarket $500 seat heaters installed by a seat upholsterer. These are awesome -- esp in comparison to my cheap solution. These were installed before our new-found thriftiness -- d'oh!
There's the update.
Cheers, nf
