Default My Drivers Window Went Crazy

I had an experience with my driver’s door window last night while driving. I moved

the door glass down 5 inches from the complete open position for fresh air, when I

wished to close it I used the auto up feature by momentarily moving the switch up

all the way to activate it and clearly removed my finger before the glass was fully

closed. I noticed it went all the way up and immediately back down to the original

position. I actually started laughing and tried it again. It did the same thing. I then

used the regular way to move the glass to the closed position with no problem.

Later I tried to duplicate the same activity and it did it again. I then tried it with the

glass all the way down and it was ok. I don’t have my manual with me now so if I

screwed up operating it let me know. If not- what gives?

This one has been reported on this forum before. Last time, the dealer did not know of a fix. Whats the last 5 digits of your VIN, as this helps us figure out whose cars get affected.

I've got the same problem, but it only happens sometimes. I'm one of those people who first noticed. I'm 7969, one of the earlier ones.

I thought all newer model cars with electric windows have a safety feature that automatically senses if a finger or other object is caught between the glass and the top part of the window channel. The window will automatically reverse direction if something is between it and the metal. Maybe there is something jammed in the window channel or maybe it just needs some lubrication?????
