I called the dealership and spoke with a Service Advisor. Of course, he was not much help. I have yet to find an SA that new as much as common info on a message board.

The problem did not repeat on the commute home or to work this morning. I think the temps were single digits. I tried the fob with the door only partially closed. Everything will work except the door lock -- makes sense.

I am hoping to pass this off as a fluke.

I searched the OM for "Fob" and "Trunk" and did not gain any insight. It could be the battery of the FOB. Maybe I shouldn't let my kid play with my keys any more. For the record she doesn't drool on them. She just likes to hold them.

If it makes you cannuks feel any better, I hate not having a winshield washer low indicator!

Thanks for the replies, all.

P.S. How do you spell "cannuks"? [sic]

Keep a eye on the site indiciater on the battery for SOC. Blue with red spot is good? I would find a good safe place for your fob's. Your battery should still be good. If not I wonder if it is covered by warrenty? H

"Hoser". Actually it's "Canucks".

While we're talking about the fob (trunk popping is the one thing I wish my car had), does the American one have a tiny red LED that lights up whenever you press a button? While I was reading your scenario, I was shouting out at the screen, "Look for the light!", like an idiot.

Wow, I don't know if I ever noticed the LED!

Although I think I did hear some shouting.

Thanks a ton, eh?
