Just an FYI to Aussie and others, you can always go back and edit your posts to correct spelling and grammatical errors as well as delete a post or edit a post for greater accuracy.

interesting situation I was in - I slowed down to about 5mph with autostop engaged and continued to keep my foot on the break but the car started going downhill up to about 18mph and the autostop was still engaged - really neat!

very interesting... i wonder if that 18 mph speed can be higher, and at the same time putting energy back into the pack (regen).

Nope... in AutoStop, the ICE / IMA is stationary. No movement = no regen. You're basically coasting with the engine off and the transmission in neutral.

Right. Keeping the car in AS while rolling downhill isn't smart. You're better off letting the engine start and getting some regen down the hill.

Yes, the car can go alot faster with AS engaged I've done it once for kicks. It comes down to you have nothing to gain by doing it. Get the regen like suggested it's one of those things that's fun once.

Agreed - I'm just surprised that the Autostop logic did not pick this scenario up...
