HondaCare Extended Warranty

Re: HondaCare Extended Warranty
Out of curiosity, has anyone had to do any warranty work on any of the hybrid Hondas yet? And if so, was the work done on the standard warranty? Or if you passed the 3 year/36K miles, the extended warranty?
Being a Honda, I decided not to get the extended warranty. But if we see a lot of occurrences of cars with problems, I just might rethink it and get one.

i bought mine from bernardi! they did the same thing to me, but you can opt out if you don't want it anytime within the first 30 (or was it 60) days for free, and thereafter on a pro-rated basis. You can also get a much cheaper version where you pay a $50 deductible and they cover the rest. the cost for me was $820 for this.

How long do I have to cash in my HC II HondaCare warranty? I bought mine in late Feb. Dealer charged $975 for 6/80 K warranty. Can I cash it in and get a cheaper HondaCare online somewhere?

I'm so bummed. I only got to drive it Sun, Mon & Tues and had to bring it back for the leather install- I've got a rental Nissan Murano now, it's hysterical- it also has a button to press for "fuel efficiency", and driving home, in stop and go traffic, in the rain on the Bay Bridge yesterday, it was reading out a lofty 11.0 mpg.
The day before I had gotten 46.5 in the Civic!
