honda has cure for 63 mile bug
My girlfriends 06 civic hybrid has the 62 mile bug.The service mgr. called her and we have an appointment
to get it fixed today, 033106. It is a 2 hour job. I'll let
you know how it works out.
06 civic hybrid/ built 09/05. 11,000 miles and getting over 50 mpg.

I just registered my VIN on HONDACARE.
Their website said no safety recalls apply to my car - it DOES have the bug.
Did you get an email informing you of the bug fix?
Can you post the text of it here?

I just called another dealer and gave them my VIN.
They verified that I need Product Update# 06-013 for the Tachometer Gauge Control Module.
It is dated 3-24-2006.
Honda does not call it a recall because it is not related to safety.
And it's not just a software update since they have to actually install new parts.
My dealers don't have the parts in yet; they are scheduled to arrive next week.
Actually, I think I'll wait a month so my HCH2 is not their first ginea pig.
But it is nice to know a fix is on the way.

Service manager just called. We can't take the car in until next tuesday.
He said the part is a computer module that goes under the dash.
I'll let you know how it all works out.
