Red face HCH Owners, why not the Insight?

I got my 03 HCH about 2 months ago. Now, I'm wondering why I didn't just go a little further and get an insight. The mpg numbers some of those guys are getting are outrageous. The insight seems to be cheaper used too, although they are limited numbers out there. So I ask you HCH owners, why not an insight?

I own neither Hondas, but here's the answer most would probably give: the Insight isn't practical for most anyone. It's a two-seater, can't haul tons of cargo, and is rare enough that one would worry how to fix it should it break. Honda sells just a couple hundred a year, I believe.

PS your sig is broken. Are you able to fix it or would you like me to?

I biggest concern about the Insight was only two seats. One reason I like the Civic is because it does not stand out.

Battery is under warranty for 8 years or 80,000 miles. In your other post I see you say the same thing about the hybrids and the batteries. Like I told my father-in-law, if people didn't try new things the wheel would not have been invented!! Kevin

Insight was too small since I sometimes have 2 riders and buy groceries for 4 people..

If I was a single man I'd latch on to the Insight right off.
However, if something should happen to vehicle #2 I'd need 5 seats right away.

i have to agree here - two seater and it didnt have enough cargo space for my purposes

also, carrying four friends is more fun than just one. and more efficient, if you know what i mean

We looked at the Insight for some time, but just couldn't get ourselves to buy one. Too small and, in my opinion, not very attractive looking. I still keep looking at them, but I doubt I'll get there. We got the HCH instead.

Yeah, I would have to agree that the Insight was just too small for people who have friends or family that they have to chauffer around. Also, I'm not a fan of the futuristic look of the insight nor the prius. I feel that by buying a HCH, it will help to propel the public to accept the idea that you could still be environmentally friendly while still retaining the style and personality that appeals to most people and not just a select group of people. I only wished that it would have been cheaper, but that's a problem with all hybrids and hope that it will go down with more time and supply.
