anyone have any helpful tip or instructions for changing the stock cd player to an aftermarket cd/mp3 player?

If you buy a wiring harness adapter at Crutchfield.com (<$20 and highly recommended) and ask nicely you'll get complete printed instructions for the entire installation, including the proper removal of plastic trim panels. With this info in hand a successful DIY installation is possible for anyone who knows how to turn a screwdriver.
