I'm sure you could just peel them off SLOWLY. These might be made of the material which is designed to split when tugging on it, so you have to be patient. The alternative is to use 3M adhesive remover. It removes all types of labels and decals and I've never seen it harm paint yet. Smells nice, too (citrus).

NOTE: I wouldn't be removing any HOV stickers until DMV confirms that the front sticker is no longer needed!

Use a hair dryer to heat the sticker and it will come off. Not sure if it will start to fall apart though.

Vehicle purchased: 4/26
Application sent in with VIN: 4/29
Plates received: 5/12
Check cashed by DMV: 5/16
Stickers received: 5/25 (#57994)

Like Falconers, my instructions were to apply just 3 stickers.

I'm wondering if the fourth sticker (front bumper) is only for southern CA. Has anyone in So CA recently received their stickers? If so, can you confirm your sticker application notice says three or four stickers to be applied?

We have four stickers on our HCH per the instructions we got in January. We are in Northern California.

Mine's 4 but I got it quite a while ago. I'd be surprised if they're cutting it back to 3. 4 is much more unattractive

Looks like they may be using two different batches of numbers. 1k difference just a few days apart or they are just issuing a heck of a lot of them lately. My instructions said to install all 4 stickers.

Interesting news... I just called both the California Air Resources board (800-242-4450) and DMV (800-777-0133). They both indicate that we should be using all FOUR stickers on our hybrids. Neither agency was aware of a change in policy to require only three stickers. The DMV said I might want to check with CHP to see if they were aware of a policy change. He gave me a number of 949-559-7888. I haven't had a chance to call them yet.

For those of you who have received notice to install only three stickers, you might just want to keep that notice (and the fourth sticker) in your glovebox!

By the way, since the 4th sticker goes on the front bumper, what happens if you want to put on a front mask (bra)??? I don't, but I saw a regular Honda Civic yesterday with a bra, and wondered what I'd do if I had one!

Are these stickers to use the car pool lanes?
