Battery Replacement
The Honda Civic Hybrid's hybrid battery is covered by a 8 year/80,000 mile warranty, but many people are now exceeding that mileage. It is becoming obvious that many HCHs and most Insights, will eventually develop battery problems.
here's how to do the battery replacement of honda civic
1.) first be sure that the bettery is needs to be replaced. Look for sulfate build-up in the form of a whitish or blue residue around the terminal--removing this can sometimes solve issues with a faulty battery. DO NOT TOUCH THIS POWDER WITH YOUR BARE HANDS, as it can often contain dried out sulfuric acid which will begin to corrode your skin.
2.) buy the correct replacement battery. Find out what kind of battery you're replacing (Or the dimensions of your battery) and bring this, your cars make model,& engine size information to a local auto parts store.
3.) set up a secure working environment
4.) open the hood.
5.) locate the battery.
6.) identify the terminals.
7.) disconnect the negative and positive terminal
8.) Remove the car battery - Unfasten the battery holder and remove any screws, clamps or bars holding the battery in place. Clean the terminal clamps and the battery tray.
9.) Replace the battery - Place the new battery where you just took the old battery out, with the positive and negative terminals on the correct sides. Connect all the screws, clamps or bars that may hold the battery in place.
sorry if the step by step procedure lacks, i just got this from the auto repair shop where i send my car to be fixed.
