Working for a dealership like he does, he probably has access to the dealer's order report. It gives the scheduled and then completed build date (where the VIN then appears on the report), and once it's built, the current location of the car and the expected arrival date at the dealership. This info is updated by IN (Honda's Interactive Network) on a daily basis (although I didn't check it *that* often).

My dealer was kind enough to provide a copy of this for me. So I know my car 8661 was 'birthed' on 12/28/05. It then docked in Portland during the week of 1/9, and arrived at my dealer in IL on 1/18 or 1/19.

FWIW, I was actually able to put the car into OwnerLink with my other Hondas when I got the VIN, even though it's status was 'ocean transit' at the time.

Hi ElanC;
