auto-lock doors: instructions please
Hi there,
I'm driving a Civic Hybrid '07 over in the Netherlands (Europe).
My owner's manual does not mention anything about the auto door locks, this features is very uncommon (virtually non-existent) for cars in Europe: there simply is no demand.
But: I like auto-lock, having lived in the US for several years. Feels safe.
And I think I can get it to work: it's probably all present in my car (software), but I have no instructions as to how to enable auto-lock.
So, is there anyone out there willing to quickly write down the instructions (copied from you owner's manual) for enabling auto-lock, so I can try and get it work ?
Would be greatly appreciated ....
Roelof

Auto Door Locking
The auto door locking feature has three possible settings:
Locks all doors when the vehicle’s speed reaches about 9 mph (15 km/h).
The auto door locking feature has three possible settings:
- The doors lock when the vehicle speed reaches 9 mph (15 km/h).
- The auto door locking is deactivated all the time.
- The doors lock whenever you move the shift lever out of the Park position.

- Make sure the shift lever is in Park (P), and close the driver’s door.
- Turn the ignition switch to the ON (II) position.
- Set the parking brake.
- Push and hold the brake pedal, then move the shift lever out of Park (P).
- Push and hold the lock side of the master door lock switch on the driver’s door. You will hear a clicking sound, and after about 5 seconds, you will hear another clicking sound.

Re: auto-lock doors: instructions please
No offense to the fine writers of the owners manual but the instructions in it I (and most others judging from the posts on this forum) found confusing.... After much trial & error with those instructions I figured out how to do it and posted my own step by step instructions at https://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/...hlight=kpalmal (post #12).
I know that in a prior thread about this topic there was another euro owner attempting to figure out whether he had this feature; bluevrfrank. Not sure whether he ever figured it out....
Hope that helps!
