I would like to have the combo key remote for my 05 HCH insteadt of separate remote and key. The accord has this all in one key. Looks like you could cut it to fit, but wonder if the electronics would work? Anyone tried this? Probably expensive!

 

i'd like something like that. the key to the HCH is a lot bigger than my old key, and i didn't have a remote with it, so this new set up is a lot larger than i'm used to. i honestly think the remote could be a lot smaller. i mean if apple can make the iPod nano so small surely it wouldn't be that hard to get a remote that small.

do you have any pictures of the one you're taking about? i think i've seen them, it's like a regular looking key for the most part right? and it's just got buttons on the end, not like the flip out VW key/remote combo right? those are on the big side too, but still smaller than what we've got now.


i know a few people wish the remote had a button to open the trunk with too... is it possible to achieve this somehow with the HCH?

I think they figured that one out too. I remember it being mentioned before over at 7thgencivic.

 

they mentioned it in the thread tbaleno supplied, but the issue of where the 'trunk open' signal goes once it is pressed is still being investigated with the new keyfob
