That's strange. I got my stickers two days before yours and my certificate has no license plate number.

From your sticker number and mine it looks like they issued 700 of them in two days, at least. That's certainly an increased pace.

Texas DOT did a full study on this, an interesting read. (HOV lanes without a physical boundary) HOV access has nothing to do with safety apparently.
Yeah, I'm always nervous when driving in the HOV lane if it moves much faster than the lane next to it. I watch the next lane like a hawk all the time because I'm afraid some idiot will jump into my lane right in front of me. If the next lane is very slow I slow down too, so there's not more than a 20-30 MPH difference.

It's good that the HCH has daytime running lights. If it didn't I would turn on my lights when driving in the HOV lane.

Here is the DMV number...
916-657-8035

I had issues too, and they got everything straigtened out.

If the 20th of the feb is the last day of releasing the stickers (btw, where is this comming from?) and I dident get my plates yet... bought the car in 16 Jan, looks like I wont catch any stickers anymore?

Should I send my application without waiting for the plates? just with the VIN number?

The February 20th date is BS created by the imagination of someone who doesn't understand the HOV sticker law.

And yes, every one who got stickers for an '06 HCH so far has done so before they got their plates.

Jan 02 - Bought the car
Jan 03 - Mailed sticker application
Jan 20 - Plates arrived
Jan 23 - Envelope with stickers was postmarked
Jan 24 - Check cleared my bank
Jan 27 - Stickers arrived

That's 24 days total, from application mailed to stickers in hand
That's fast but I should add that I know for sure that the dealer walked my forms over to the DMV two days after the purchase.
I think this is the largest variable.
I think that some dealers wait till they have a pile of them, or only send them in every 30 or 45 days.

The certificate says: Date Issued: 1-20-2006.
It DOES have my license plate number on it even though I mailed in the application before I got the plates.
My stickers have serial number is 45,5xx.

I'm happy now!

I bought the car January 2, 2006, and added that to my post above.

The 60.1 MPG is for the twenty months that I owned my 2004 HCH hybrid.
I haven't switched it over to the new car yet, for which I only have one tank (54.9 MPG I think).

But to answer your question how on earth I get 60 MPG, keep reading.
This place is full of MPG tips.
I do almost all of them.
