@ 10,000 miles, you might find it interesting to get one of those oil analysis kits and see what's going on with your oil at that state of use.

I also use Mobil 1 0-w20 in all our vehicles. And I change it at 5K.
They were some guys who did some studies with this and they were attempting with every major synthetic oil. they would leave the oil in the car and test until it wasn't good anymore. If I'm not mistaken they went over 15K miles just changing the oil filter and topping off. I'll see if I can find the tests and post a link. The money used was donated by a number of folks that were interested in seeing the tests done.

It sounds like the one that I posted a few posts ago. I specifically linked to the Mobil 1 study, but here is the link that mentions Mobil 1 and Amsoil.

Yeah that is the one. I remember when the tests first began with the Mobil 1.

NOT RECOMMENDED, but to indicate that it is possible:

I went 22,000 miles on ONE oil change in my 2002 Chevy Avalanche using Amsoil Series 2000 0w-20 oil, over a 5 month period. The wife was driving 180 miles a day round-trip to college in another town.

That vehicle now has 90,000 miles on it and no engine problems.

Just FYI......

Surely the question should be "is anybody not using synthetic"?

I recently read that Castrol have tested their synthetic oil to 50,000 miles without adverse effect.
