not bad considering my prior tank was 37mpg (read leadfoot) trying to raise those HCH numbers out there.

Got 53.7mpg (dropped from 54.1 right before I parked) on the way in today off of 45 mile trip and the way to work has more up hills than down, so going try and get that number even higher. The hills are whats killing me. I wish Honda had made the IMA a little more aggressive. I can only seem to get it to kick in and stay at 38mpg setting on the readout.

Mine is the same way. If the hill is a little steeper I can usually get it to "Lock in" at 40MPG. Sometimes I also wish that I could adjust this.
Congradulations on your continual improvement!
(Please see the FCD pic links in my signature below)
If I can be of assistance please let me know.
Thanks

I discovered that just today as well (toying with different ways to get up a hill) and your exactly right, if the hill is steep enough it will lock in at 40... shame, the power is there it just won't work the way it could

the assist would go up when it "locks in" though correct? so you would be paying for it later when the batteries charge (of course, if you have a nice downhill that would work well).

possibly, it just needs to be a little bit more aggressive, it takes some very extreme feathering of the gas pedal to get it to lock in at 38 or 40mpg, I mean you really have to concentrate on it, and when you do, you only get 4-8 bars of assist..not that much (but enough to make a difference)
