Does anyone know that status of the AB 2600 Lieu bill? Last I heard it was an Arnie's desk but after that I can't locate any information.

Hi, It's still there. I use this site to keep an eye on bills. http://www.aroundthecapitol.com/Bills/AB_2600/

they can even put youon a email list for updates and you can send emails to his office telling him that you want him to sign it.

The AB 2600 (Lieu) bill went to the California Governer at 1:45pm on Tuesday Sept. 19. So we'll have to see whether he signed it in the upcoming days.

Whoohoo, just got this e-mail update:

AB 2600 (Lieu) STATUS UPDATE- 09/29/06: Signed by the GovernorChaptered by Secretary of State - Chapter 614, Statutes of 2006.

 

YES!! Fantastic!! Is the HOV lane use extended up to 2011 or through 2011 (to 2012)?

 

"This bill would extend these provisions until January 1, 2011, or
until the Director of Transportation determines that federal law does
not authorize the state to allow these low-emission and hybrid
vehicles to so operate in HOV lanes, whichever occurs first."

 

So now... seems that 85,000 limit will be reached around November 15th (right?**)

Basing this projection on posts from this thread:

Stickers issued:rounding michael_h_lee's out to 75,000... that suggests they're issuing approx 1,000 per week.

Anyone seeing CA demand spike because of this? (Now I am contemplating upgrading my 2005 to an 06 or 07)
