Default 52.7 Avg. for 217 miles!!!!!

Yes, I averaged 52.7 mpg on my 217 mile trip back home to Rockford for the weekend from Western Illinois University ! I set the cruise control to 60 miles per hour and even got behind a few semis which, believe it or not, helped. I could see the MPG indictor increase when I pulled up behind them. It was a cold and cloudy day with little wind. I believe the temp was in the low 30's.

That is the best mpg I have achieved since I got the car back in December. On the way down to school after winter break I averaged 45.2 but, I was also going faster, something like 75 mph.

Just thought I would share...

It's called drafting. See any NASCAR race for examples

That's a sweet ride to be sportin in the Macomb student parking lot(assuming your a student).

Back when I was hanging at the Pace etc. my Datsun B210 wagon, rusty but trusty, was the average car in the lot.

Stoney: keep it up. It's a good score... I bet you can WAAAY better. Cruise control is ok if you dont want to get more I guess. I got today 52.9 for 116 miles, up and down and up and down and freeway traffic and stops and go... and so on...
