Default 2006 hybrid civic / mysterious oil leak

Just had the oil changed in Lisa's 06 Civic Hybrid at Sterling Honda in
Longview, Washigton at 3,725 miles. Mechanics and manager stated there is
a small oil leak maybe three drops of oil from somewhere.

I did check the engine oil and it was full just prior to taking it for an oil
change. No oil marks in the driveway either.

They said it may be from the electric motor or maybe just a small seepage
from breaking in. In any event she will have to take it back again in a
couple of weeks for an overnight stay so they can examine it and may even
have a Honda Rep. take a look. They appeared concerned but there was no problem with driving it for a while.

Just heads up on this one.

Also average MPG has been now 50.7 MPG and temp is in the upper 30's
cold. This is by filling up to the neck of the tank and so you can not get
one drop of gas in. Computer last fill up stated 45.0 MPG for
333 miles. Actual by filling up to the tank neck was 52.03 mpg.

Note when the gas nozzle clicks off you can still get about 2 gallons or
so in the tank.

Hopefully they'll figure it out and get it fixed. By the way....

How many gallons did you pump for this last fill-up and how many miles had you driven?

Alster;

Sorry to here about the (3-Drops-Of-Oil) , hopefully the Dealer will resolve that situation for you.

Your fuel mileage sounds pretty good to me and I also read where you said once the pump cut off you could still get 2-more gallons of fuel in tank to the very top, not one more drop. The Civic (Non-Hybrid) that I traded in on the Incoming Jan. 06 HCH ll was the same way you have described. It would hold somewhere around two more gallons after pump first cut off. I could drive along time on the interstate before the fuel gauge would drop below the Line that showed Full. I kinda liked that, it was fun to drive like forever and the fuel gauge still showing Full.

Say I forgot to ask you how are you all driving the car as far as speeds? Are you really driving for very high FE or just driving it like any other car and letting the FE fall as it will?

Went 333.3 miles and took 6.405 gallons regular shell gas and I could no get one drop of gas in taking my time. This is the only real way to figure out true 100 % Miles per gallon. The computer was reading only 45.0 MPG when I filled up. This is the same method I use in my 2003 Jetta wagon TDI which by the way get on average 55 MPG but does drop to about 50-53 MPG in winter. Even diesels take a hit in the cold.

This is Lisa's car so I don't drive it all the time. I drive consevatively but not in the
far right lane at 40 MPH. I keep up with traffic and have a light touch on the gas pedal. The last 333 miles was a mix of 25 % city and 75 % hwy that take into account the 60 plus miles to Longview Washington from Seaside Oregon.

Now Lisa does not drive like me she drives like a normal person who is not particlar about mpg's.
