2006 Civic Spy Shots - Undisguised/Interior/Exterior
Here's some bigger pictures, with less obstruction, over at The Car Lounge:

I personally think the hybrid wheels look kind of cool. They're very flat, yes, but they have a high tech appearance to them, plus I'm sure they're much more aerodynamic than the EX wheels. Also, keep in mind they won't have giant pieces of black tape over the H badges when it gets unveiled on September 1st.

So, somewhere on this board is a rumor that the '06 hybrid will only come in CVT. Can someone link me some documentation?
I'm guessing there will be no hybrid coupe?
This is what I want: a hybrid with the '06 Si's 6 speed manual transmission that looks more like the SI than the Saturn looking Hybrid sedan. I gotta say, as much as I think the new interior rocks, I just can't justify trading in an '04 that I have 2.9% financing on for a car that looks like that.
I wish they'd make an Acura TSX hybrid. I might be able to deal with that. Or an Accord Hybrid couple, with a 6 speed manual transmission.
It annoys me that they're keeping these details under wraps. They should be laying it all out at newcivic.honda.com

2.9% **** that's good!!! 5.99% here, just got the car 3 weeks ago
on a more related note, a TSX hybrid would be amazing, especially coupled to a 6 speed manual, it's nice to dream sometimes

Well, two things we know are:
1) The Civic Si will have a 6-speed. There have been implications already that all Civics have a 6-speed manual now, mainly for the ability to run a very overdriven top gear while still still having acceptable accelleration gears.
2) The Civic Hybrid will only come in CVT. Sorry.

Well hey I am the same age as you, live in Southern Cal, and drive a 2004 HCH!!!

Gotta say after looking at those pics, I'm not the slightest bit sad I just bought a 2004. I like the civic because, unlike its competition, it's a car not a spaceship. 2006 civic looks pretty space-shippey to me. I'm glad they put the cup holders in a better place but not much else looked like an improvement to me.
I was "down" about purchasing the 05 instead of the 06, that is until I saw these photos!
I could live with the new 06 "Prius/Saturn/??-look", but my wife would not be pleased. She was dead set against a Prius purely for cosmetic reasons when we were considering a hybrid.
Yea I'm bummed about the new engine, and navigation option, and audio conrols on the steering wheel, and....
But, I just tell myself that we've got a great car, and who knows what Honda will have when It's time to replace it.
