Default 12v battery change

Hi
It seems like my 12v battery is slowly dying out on my 08.
Will it effect the ima system if i go for a after market battery with the exact same specs as the genuine 12v battery?

No. Lots of folks use regular batteries. One chap on this site is even using a garden tractor battery! H

If I recall correctly my OEM battery went bad around 60k miles. The dealer wanted about $100 for a new one. I went to a big box chain auto parts store and spent around $40.

I'm going on 230,000 miles and have that same battery. No problem.
