I don't know what the BEST place would be, but there was a thread on here not too long ago that had a link to a dealer that had some pretty good prices on EWs. Do a search for extended warranties.

Thanks Bar!! I'm very new to the forum (first post was my last one!) - but I've been reading for the past few days, as I've been deciding on which hybrid to buy (prius, highlander, escape, lexus or accord). I finally decided on the accord - best of everything . Now I'm only trying to figure out wether or not to wait for an 06 or to just get an 05. I really like sunroofs and such though, so I'll probably take my $500 down payment and tell the dealer to hook me up with his first 06 . I want to get the cheapest EW to go with it though... I usually put about 33K miles/year on my car, so en EW makes sense.

Awesome! Well, welcome to the forum! Lots of good people on here. Overall, the '05 and '06 HAH are similar. Can't go wrong with either one. Just be sure you're getting the best deal! Shop around. I mean it. Don't buy until you've shopped around. You could end up saving a few thousand dollars. Or, you could end up KNOWING you got the best deal from your original dealer. After shopping around, I was set to buy from one dealer. But for some random reason, I went to one more dealer, and got my car for $1000 less! And I didn't even tell that dealer the price I got quoted elsewhere! That was just their price.

For the life of me, I really don't recall the website with the cheap EWs. It was a Honda dealer website, if I recall correctly. You click on the car you have, and how long of a warranty you want. I think I got a quote of somewhere around $900 for a 7 year 120K mile. When I bought my car, the dealer wanted $1600 for a 7 year 100K mile!

Deathpulse-

Welcome! The Accord certainly does let you have your cake and eat it, too. It may let a little more fat and sugar into your body than the HCH for instance, but with a little exercise...

If you can afford to wait a little, you might want to hold out for the Camry or Altima hybrids. The Camry will be a 4cylinder, and will be mfg in the US. These will let you play 3 peers against each other and give you the widest choice.

It depends on where your preference is- power with good almost-luxury and good efficiency (Accord) or not so much power with probably better efficiency, and probably the same almost-lux trim level (Camry). No real numbers have surfaced on the Camry hybrid yet to tell for sure.

Also- if you do a lot of city, low-speed, or short hop driving you may be well-served to wait and check out the Camry or Altima- both will use the Toyota system which shines at low speed. The Accord still sucks gas like any other V6 when creeping around. Well, not nearly as bad, but the Camry will surely kill it on the school-sports-errand loops.
